Soundtracks: Songs that Defined History

These are the songs that brought us together and pulled us apart, songs that became burned in our memory, and songs that spoke to us individually and as a people. From Kent State to the riots of Los Angeles, from the space race and hard-fought battles on foreign soil – to unimaginable tragedy on the homefront, music has played an integral part in celebrating, criticizing, amplifying and ultimately defining these seismic moments in our world.

Each hour is thematically driven, while simultaneously propelling the audience forward in time. Groundbreaking storytelling and pivotal events in our history are illuminated by both iconic and rare archival footage and still photography, punctuated by interviews with some of the great artists, politicians, historians and musicians of the last 60 years.

As Executive Producer, I was instrumental in the development of the series, and oversaw the production from initial research through production and to final delivery.
